Poems and Plants

We had a poetic Tuesday in Room 203. We spent our morning looking at an issue of Time for Kids and looking at books with our Reading Buddies. We also looked at poetry during Reader's Workshop. After reading some poems, we worked with a partner to write a short couplet with rhyming words to end each sentence. They came out cute! We will rewrite and decorate them on nicer paper tomorrow. After snack and recess, we reviewed our sight words, recited "This Little Piggy," and wrote in our journals about seeds.

After lunch, we practiced some subtraction facts to five. Keep practicing at home! We also finished our mini-books about plant needs by coloring, cutting, and stapling them together. After Workshop, we had Star of the Week. We reviewed what we know about Owen and he shared some toys. He brought in a teddy bear, a flute, a car, a motorcycle, a truck, and a fidget spinner. The class like them all!  We ended the day in Music and P.E. Then we reviewed homework and packed up for home.
