Tracing Leaves and Broken Lines
We had a busy Friday in Room 203. We started our morning with Star of the Week. Avery told us some silly jokes before we wrote friendly letters to him. Then we read "So Much!" for read aloud. At Reader's Workshop we learned about snap words - words you can read in a snap - before looking at books and trying to find our snap words. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. When we returned, we had science. We talked about the parts of a leaf and made leaf tracing with colored chalk. They look pretty cool!
After lunch, we recited our poem, practiced the phonetic alphabet, and had math. We reviewed the flat shapes before looking for and identifying solid shapes. We focused on the cube, sphere, cone, and cylinder today. We finished with Art. We made pictures with broken lines by using glue and construction paper pieces. They're very creative! We ended the day with P.E. and Music. Then we packed up, read our letters to Avery, and gave out prizes for twenty super star sticks. Have a great weekend!
Be sure to get going on those Culture Doll projects, which are due on Wednesday, December 6th. Contact me if you have any questions!
