Orcas
We had a busy Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities. In our A to Z Countdown it was "G is for Game Day," so we drew our favorite game. For Star of the Week, Quinn shared a funny "Do's and Don't's" book. After Road to Reading, we had Writer's Workshop. We finished our dog and cat opinion writing and shared with someone that agreed with us and someone with a different opinion. After snack and recess, we read a book on killer whales, or orcas, and had ELA Workshop. Students made an orca in independent groups. My groups worked Mother's Day cards. We also visited a secret center and played some of our favorite board games.
After recess, we reviewed sight words, recited "Come to the Window," and read "Rainbow Fish and the Sea Monster's Cave." Then we rehearsed our Three Piggy Opera songs with Ms. Bretl and Mrs. Sigunick. When we came back, we had Second Step. We talked about being safe, reviewed the Never Never rules, and practiced the Always Ask First rule. We also got a little game time before we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
