More With the Wh Digraph

We had a busy Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities. In our A to Z Countdown, it was "P is for Pajamas." Many students were very comfortable during the day!  Next we read "Little Rabbit's First Farm Book" and had ELA Workshop. Students worked on "Wh" phonics and sentences at independent tables. My groups read Sam and Mat books 11 and 12 as I checked on our 100 sight word fluency. We also visited a new secret center. They include: Drawing with colored pencils at the Art Center, LexiaCore5 games at the Computer Center, Sorting foods at the Math Center, Animal viewfinders at the Mystery Center, Reading Sam and Mat books at the Reading and Writing Center, and, Playing with Farm Animals at the Science Center. After snack and recess, we had Writer's Workshop. We finished up some opinion writing and shared with a friend. For Star of the Week, Yahkid shred some cool toys. He had a fidget spinner, a toy motorcycle, a Spiderman doll, a Captain America doll, and an Angry Bird toy. The class liked them all!

After lunch, we reviewed and used our sight words in sentences, recited "Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone?" and read "Sheep in a Jeep." Then came our run of Tuesday specials. We listened to a story and talked with Mr. Withers in the library. We reviewed a lot of vocabulary in Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. And we played some fun soccer games in P.E. with Mr. Simatic. We ended the day by visiting the fourth grade classrooms and seeing their Social Studies research projects in Mrs. Baker's, Mr. Manus', and Ms. Robinet's classes. It was neat!  Then we packed up, reviewed homework, sang "Happy Birthday" to George, and lined up for home.

Don't forget that the Three Piggy Opera is tomorrow!
