Octopus, Sea Stars, and Ice Pops!

We had an interesting Friday in Room 203. We began our day by collecting homework and taking care of our morning activities. In the A to Z Countdown it was "I is for Ice Pops," so we drew our favorite icy treat. For Star of the Week, Quinn shared a couple of funny jokes and we read the letters that we had written him yesterday. After Road to Reading, we had snack and tried to finish up our Mother's Day gifts and cards.  In Spanish we talked more about the jungle and foods with Sra. Colmenero. In P.E. we played some fun stacking tower relay games with Mr. Simatic. When we got back to the room, we finished our cards and wrapped up our Mother's Day gifts. We hope that you enjoy them!

After lunch, we reviewed all 90 sight words we've learned this year and recited ""Come to the Window." We read two short books on the octopus and talked about them before painting our own octopus with watercolors. When we were done, we read another book on sea stars and then painted our own sea star, too. They look cute! Next, we went out and celebrated our "I" day with some tasty (sugar free) ice pops. Then we had an afternoon recess. Fun!  When we came back in, we practiced a couple of Three Piggy Opera songs and cut out the octopus and sea star we made. Then we packed up Friday Folders, counted super star sticks and awarded prizes, and grabbed our Mother's Day gifts to take home. Have a great weekend!
