Being Kind
We had a kind Tuesday in Room 203. We began the day with our morning activities. In our A to Z Countdown, it was "K is for Kindness" day. We drew a picture of ourselves doing something kind. We also answered some "th" riddles and brainstormed more "th" words. For Star of the Week, Rocco shared some cool toys. He had a trophy, a Kids Passport case with items from around the world, and Rock'em, Sock'em Robots. The class liked them all! After Road to Reading, we read "The Farmer in the Dell" and had ELA Workshop. In independent groups, student worked on "th" phonics and sentences. My groups read Sam and Mat books 9 and 10. We also visited a secret center. When we were done, we cleaned up and had snack and recess outside. When we came in, we read kindly with a friend and looked at a Time for Kids on water as a group.
After lunch, we reviewed our sight words, recited "Bedtime," and read "Good Morning, Chick!" Then came our run of Tuesday specials. Mr. Withers read us "Jabari Jumps" and let us check out a book for the last time this year in the library. We had a substitute in Spanish, so we watched a movie on Spanish speaking countries together. In P.E., Mr. Simatic had us play some fun games. When we got back to the room, we practiced our Three Piggy Opera songs before having some kind free time. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
