The Letter F
We had a fun Monday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders, getting new jobs, and taking care of our morning activities, including sorting lunches, the Pledge, calendar, and the alphabet. After HWT, we had Road to Reading. Next, we introduced our letter of the week ("F") and made the tactile page "Feathers on 'F's on a Football using crayons, glue, and feathers. After snack and recess, we had Art with Ms. Sundquist. She had the class review lines and then use oil pastels to color in their line pictures from last time.
After lunch, we recited our new poem "Three Little Kittens" and practiced some phonics skills, including segmentation, oral blending, and more. At Music, Mrs. Hanson had the class work on another piece of the opera and loud and soft voices. When we got back to our room, we learned how to play "Boom!" and got to play Boom, math games with dice, or look at our new books while Mr. Ricker finished some assessments. Next we went to the Computer Lab to work on LexiaCore5. I will be giving parents an information sheet, along with a code to have your child play more at home. To end the day, we passed out homework, packed up, and awarded prizes for twenty super star sticks. Keep earning those prizes everyone! Then we lined up for home.
Be sure to look over homework packets for the week. A note from our room parents is attached regarding our Halloween party. Please return permission slips for our field trip this week, too.
It is conference week, so remember that we have 11:00 A.M. dismissals on Thursday and Friday. I will meet parents in Room 203 at their scheduled time. Let me know if you''ll be late or need to reschedule. Lastly, the Scholastic Book Fair is here Wednesday through Friday in the Commons. We will visit as a class on Thursday morning. Let's have a great week!
