Valentine Projects

We had a busy Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day, as usual, with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Valentine's Day." At language arts rotations, students sewed and decorated a heart. My groups read "We Can!" and wrote a friendly letter to Hudson, our Star of the Week. The other groups had their first secret center. After recess, we recited "There Was a Crooked Man," did some rhyming, and had math. We read a book about dimes and learned that they are worth ten cents, have Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the front, and have a torch surrounded by an olive branch and an oak branch. Then we tried to identify dimes.

After lunch, Sophia read a  book to the class. Then I read Valentine's Day story before we worked on some holiday projects. They should be finished by tomorrow!  For Star of the Week, Hudson shared his favorite Knock Knock joke book. The class thought it was very funny. At P.E., Coach Angel had us play "Skyscrapers." In this game, students try to throw a ball over a volleyball net to knock over towers set up on the other side. We ended in a 2-2 tie. AT the library, Mrs. Singh read us two stories. One book was "Artur's Christmas, the other was a picture book on Abraham Lincoln. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home!

Remember that if you choose to bring cards or treats tomorrow, be sure to have 25, one for each student. Thanks!
