Valentine Guy and Valentine Girl

We had a fun Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition outside. After morning activities, we read "U is for Unicorn" and "Mouse's First Valentine." At language arts rotations, students created Valentine Guy or Valentine Girl. We decorated, cut, pasted, and folded paper to make a heart shaped character.  My groups read "Can Nan?" and wrote a letter to Jacob, our Star of the Week. The other groups had their final secret center of this rotation. After recess, we recited "Little Boy Blue," did some rhyming, reviewed sight words, and finished up our art from the morning.

After lunch, we had music. Ms. Phiri led the class through several songs together. When we got back to Room 2, we had Star of the Week. Jacob had us estimate cotton balls. There were 80 cotton balls. Katharine guessed it exactly!  We had P.E. on the big yard using balls and jump ropes next. Then we had a popcorn party!  We ate a cup of popcorn while we watched "The Magic School Bus: Busasaurus."Then we packed up Friday Folders and passed out prizes for students that earned twenty Super Star Sticks. Dashiell read us "Crankenstein" and Lila shared her book of knock knock jokes to end the day. Then we passed out certificates for staying green all week and lined up for home.  Have a great weekend!
