Field Trip!
We had a fun Friday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting homework and having Nutrition inside. Students got a chance to work on a Valentine's Day word search, too. We had a quick calendar time and then had Star of the Week. Hudson had us estimate pencil sharpeners. There were 37 pencil sharpeners! The best guess was 40 by Mr. Ricker. Then we packed up our lunches and got into groups for our field trip!
We took a big orange bus all the way to the California Science Center. We had to wait awhile after we got there, but soon we were in the IMAX Theater watching Galapagos 3D: Nature's Wonderland. The class seemed to enjoy it very much! After lunch, we broke off into groups to explore the Science Center. There were machines, structures, transportation, plants, animals, and more. Most groups got a chance to see the Space Shuttle Endeavour, as well. Overall, I think we all had a great time.
After a warm and quick bus ride back to Third Street, we played for a few minutes. Then we packed up our Friday Folders and holiday presents before giving prizes for 20 super star sticks, reading "The Night Before Valentine's Day," and passing our certificates for an all green week.
Remember that we do not have school on Monday because of the Presidents' Day holiday. Enjoy the three-day weekend!
