Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Our class entered Room 2 to find green footprints. They led from outside to the teacher chair. A small pot of gold (chocolates) were left in the seat. We figured it was from a leprechaun that wanted us to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. And so went our Monday... After unpacking and taking care of our morning business, we read "It's St. Patrick's Day." For language arts rotations, we worked on the "ch" sound (We've finished all the letters, so now we're working on digraphs). We did "ch" handwriting and made the tactile page "Chips on Ch on Cheese." My table wrote weather poems, while the other groups finished their last secret center. After snack and recess, we learned the poem "Wee Willie Winkie" and read "Looking for Leprechauns." Then did some St. Patrick's Day themed addition practice.
After lunch, we did some rhyming and reviewed sight words. We also read "Fluffy's Lucky Day" and finished up our math. Then we unscrambled sentences and drew a picture to match. For Star of the Week, Penelope shared her beautiful poster and took questions from the class. We had P.E. on the kindergarten yard before finishing up our storm clouds from last week. We ended the day by reading "St. Patrick's Day in the Morning" and coloring a leprechaun page. Then we packed up, got our homework folders, and got some "gold" before lining up for home. Let's have a great week!
Don't forget to look over this week's homework packet. The Walk-a-Thon is this Friday and there is some information about the Science Fair. Projects are optional, but will be acknowledged and rewarded. Let me know if you have any questions!
