More With R

We had another good Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Rosey Rabbit's Radish" and came up with more "R" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "R" phonics, words, and sentences. My groups came up with New Year's Resolutions. The other groups had their first secret center of this rotation. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott is out the next two weeks, so Mr. C was our teacher today. He helped the class read the story "The Gingerbread Man" and then use Wixie to sequence the story. When we got back to Room 2, we recited "Jack and Jill," worked on initial sounds, blending, vowel sounds and  our sight words.

After lunch, we read "Look Alike Animals" and finished our New Year's Resolutions project. We cut out our bell and cloud shapes before hole punching and tying knots to attach the resolutions. It was a bit challenging, but we got them done! For Star of the Week, Katharine shared some nice toys. She had a magnifying glass, Rainbow Dash from "My Little Pony,"and another pony with a saddle. The class like them a lot! We ended the day with our Reading Buddies from Room 19. Then we packed up, put up our chairs, reviewed our homework, and lined up for home.

Don't forget that we have sentences as part of our homework tonight to go with our 6 "R" words. See me if you have any questions or concerns!
