The Shape of My Family
We had a fun Thursday in Room 2. We began the day, as usual, with Nutrition and morning activities. After Chloe shared two stories from her "Snow Animals" book, we read "R is for Rabbit." At language arts rotations, students worked on "R" words and sentences. My groups read "It Can Go, Go, Go" and wrote a friendly letter to Katharine, our Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we recited "Jack and Jill" and had math. We heard math stories and tried to figure out if they were addition or subtraction problems. We listened for key words or phrases to help. Then we solved the problems.
After lunch, we read "Counting Baby Animals," sang "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and had art. Our lesson was on "The Shape of My Family." We used what we learned about drawing people last time to help us draw our family in pencil. Then we used twist crayons, oil pastels, and colored pencils to color it in. For Star of the Week, Katharine shared some nice pictures. At P.E. we used bouncy balls and jump ropes. Dashiell brought in his 100 Day project early, so he shared it with the class. Then we packed up our things, reviewed homework, and played "Mr. Ricker Says" before lining up for home.
Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow!
