The Letter T
We had a good Monday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders and having Nutrition. Then we took care of our morning activities, read "My 'T' Book," and brainstormed some "T" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on neat "T" handwriting and using crayons, glue and toothpicks to make the tactile page "Toothpicks on 'T's on a Tomato. My groups took the Unit 4 Treasures Assessment. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we learned our new poem "Polly, Put the Kettle On," did some rhyming, and had math. We worked on using counters to crate different combinations for making 8 and 9.
After lunch, we read the book "Tacky the Penguin." Students wrote two or more sentences about the story. Then we introduced Jayden as our Star of the Week. He shared his cool poster and then took questions and comments from the class. For P.E., we had free play with jump ropes and bouncy balls. When we came in, we decorated a tacky shirt for Tacky the penguin using crayons and watercolors. They look excellent! Then we cleaned up, packed up, and lined up for home.
Don't forget to check over homework packets for the week. Note that 100 Day Books are due this Friday. Let's have a great week!
