Bears

We had a fun Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Bears" and talked about the different kinds of bears and some fun facts. At language arts rotations, students made a bear with movable arms and legs using scissors, glue, and brass fasteners. My groups finished up a writing assessment. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we recited "Polly, Put the Kettle On" and had math. We worked on writing number sentences that equal 8 and 9.We noted that flipping numbers doesn't change the answer: Both 9+0 and 0+9=9!

After recess, we shared Caleb's and Kaia's 100 Day books and had art. We learned about hot (red, orange, yellow) and cold (blue, green, purple) colors. Then everyone made two flowers using oil pastels: One hot and one cold. They look nice! For Star of the Week, Jayden shared his favorite book, "Green Eggs and Ham." AT P.E., Coach Angel had students used the two person scooters to try and find out the best and fastest way to move with a partner. Then they had relay races. At the library, Mrs. Singh read us three books: "Toad Eats Out," "Wings on Things," and "Oops Pig." Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home!
