Whales

We had another good day this Thursday in Room 2. We began with our morning business. Then we read the books "Manta Rays" and "Dolphins." At language arts rotations, students wrote letters to Coach Angel. My groups read "Sam and Mat" book 14 and wrote what we hope to do this summer in our kindergarten journals. The other groups got choose time.  After snack and recess, we had math. We reviewed the four main coins before focusing on the penny. Students identified the pennies that were mixed in with other coins.

After lunch, we read the book "Whales and Dolphins" did another quick worksheet where we counted pennies. Then we went to the auditorium to rehearse for tomorrow's culmination ceremony. We went out to P.E. next. After that, we read the book "Whales." Students then got to paint a large whale with tempera paint. Then we cleaned up, got our things, and lined up for home.
