Kindergarten Culmination
Our class a busy day leading up to our culmination ceremony. We began our Friday with morning business and by reading "The Rainbow Fish." Then we went out on the yard to watch the 5th graders challenge the teachers in a softball game. We stayed until about 9:05 (The teachers were leading and went on to win). When we got back, students made a fish with scales (including one silver scale) at language arts rotations. My groups read the last "Sam and Mat" book and wrote our last entry in our kindergarten journals, this time about summer vacation. The other groups got choose time. After recess, we went into the auditorium for our final dress rehearsal. It went well.
After lunch, we read "It's Graduation Day!" and finished our morning rotations. When we were done, we cleaned up and put away our Friday Folders. Then we watched "The Magic School Bus Goes to Mussel Beach." Now we were finally ready for our performance. We walked into the auditorium to see our families, and to get our picture taken! Then we performed "The Kindergarten Medley'" "Surfin' Safari," and "First Grade First Grade." Each teacher then passed our diplomas to everyone in the class. Mrs. Navarrette went first, Ms. Genut went second, and Mr. Ricker went third. When the culmination ceremony ended, we went back to Room 2 to celebrate our year in kindergarten (and have some refreshments)! I think that we've had a wonderful year!
Have a great weekend!
