Last Trip to Tech Lab, Last Day with Reading Buddies
You can tell we're nearing the end of kindergarten, as we are experiencing some "last" events of the year. We began our Tuesday by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our morning business. Then we read "All I Need to Know About Fish." We brainstormed what we knew about fish after reading the book. At language arts rotations, we labeled the parts of a fish (mouth, eye, fins, gills, and tail) and wrote sentences about fish. My groups took the topic 16 math test and read "Sam and Mat" book 13. The other groups got choose time, since we finished our last secret centers on Friday. After snack and recess, we had our last trip to the Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had the class use a game called "Animate" at abcya.com to make a short animated scene. It was pretty cool! When we returned to Room 2, we reviewed all 24 weeks of Dolch sight words for the year!
After lunch, we went to the auditorium to rehearse our three songs for culmination with Ms. Genut's class and Mrs. Navarrette's class. Hopefully practicing together will make Friday's performance even better! We even practiced walking down the aisle to receive our diplomas. We hope to make everyone very proud. When we were done, we decided to make a card, letter, or picture for our fourth grade Reading Buddies. They were nice. We had a quick P.E. and then made our last trip to Room 19. We really enjoyed meeting with them on Tuesdays! When we got back, we passed out our homework folders, and lined up for home.
There is no homework assigned for the week. Just make sure that all permission slips, waivers, and yearbook surveys have been turned in. And get ready for our culmination ceremony on Friday. Let's have a fantastic week!
