Butterflies
We had another busy day this Tuesday in Room 2. We started our day with our morning business and by reading "Flora Flamingo Learns to Fly." At language arts rotations, students worked more with "L Blends" and by writing sentences. My groups worked on Mother's Day cards. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "It's Raining," did some rhyming, and had math. We made shapes out of other shapes. We used our wooden shape blocks to find different ways to create a hexagon using triangles, diamonds, and trapezoids.
After lunch, we practiced our Mother's Day poem. Then we read "Butterflies" and "I'm a Caterpillar." We made a colorful butterfly and ordered the stages in its development. For Star of the Week, Warner shared some cool toys. He had Minecraft paper blocks, a puppy, and several "Angry Birds" related items (cars, toys, and stuffed figures). The class like them a lot! We went out for P.E. on the kindergarten yard before ending the day filling out our Topic 16 math introduction page. Then we packed up our things and lined up for home!
