And Tango Makes Three

We had a fast Tuesday in Room 203. We spent our morning having HWT, Reading Buddies, and then reading "And Tango Makes Three." Students listened to the true story of penguins from the Central Park Zoo and then wrote about what was happening in the illustration. After Road to Reading, we had snack and recess. We also watched a short video on penguins and made some special Valentine cards.

After lunch, we visited the library. Mr. Withers had the class listen to a story and check out new books. When we return to Room 203, we reviewed sight words, recited "Simple Simon," and read Clifford's Valentines. We made a patterned decoration on our special Valentine project. For Star of the Week, we reviewed what we know about Henry. Then Henry shared some of his favorite toys. He had seven Hot Wheels cars, a cute teddy bear, and a soft stuffed dog. The class liked them all!  We ended the day in Music and Spanish. Then we packed up, reviewed homework and lined up for home.

Remember that tomorrow is Valentine's Day! We're keeping it low-key with a card exchange in the afternoon. If you decide to bring cards or treasures, be sure to have 18, one for each student. Thanks!
