Lines and P.E.with Coach Angel

We had a fun day of firsts in Room 2. We began our Wednesday with morning activities and by reading "Mouse Paint." We also read "B is for Bear" and brainstormed more "B" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on finding more "B" words and cutting and pasting them in balloon shapes. My groups took the Topic 1 math assessment and wrote in our kindergarten journals about things we can do. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "Three Men in a Tub" and had math. We looked at more, fewer, and the same.

After lunch, we read "Wait! No Paint!" and had art. We continued our unit on lines but looking at thick and thin lines. Students then used primary color paint to make a pattern of three lines. For our first time painting, we did a very nice job!  Then we went out for afternoon snack/recess. At 1:30, we had our first P.E. class with Coach Angel. He had the class walk a lap and play relay races. After a water break, we went to the library. We met our new library teacher, Mrs. Singh. She read us two stories. She said that later in the year we can check out books, too. I'll send home library checkout forms next week. Then we got our things and lined up for home.

Don't forget to finish and check your homework for tomorrow!
