Field Trip to SciTech

We had a fantastic Friday in Room 203. It was a field trip day, so we had a lot of fun. We began the day by collecting lunches, homework folders and taking care of our morning activities. We decided to have Star of the Week right away, so George told a silly joke before we shared the letters we wrote for him this week. We went over the rules for our trip and took a bathroom break before getting into groups to board the bus.

It was a long drive to SciTech, but it was worth it! When we got there, we learned about dinosaurs, and explored many facets of science. There were exhibits on communication, sound, animals, plants, space, isotopes, physics, and more. Best of all, it was all hands-on, so the class got to move around and experiment with things all day. A big thank you to our awesome chaperones: Ascencion's mom, Elise's dad, Quinn's mom, Yahkid's dad, and Zach's mom! They made our day go so much smoother!

When we got back to Beye, we packed up our things and got a drink (it turned into a very warm day!) before heading to the gymnasium to watch the K-2 basketball game. Our very own Ellie was selected for the team and they did very well against the teachers. Be sure to ask your child about it! When it was over, we took a very well deserved recess break before reviewing our favorite parts of the field trip, awarding prizes for twenty super star sticks, and lining up for home.
