More With the Letter Q

We had a short Tuesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "The Quiet Quail" and came up with some more "Q" words. At language arts rotations, students worked on "Q" phonics and question sentences. My groups wrote about their Winter Break in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had Tech Lab. Ms. Castro had the class use stamps in Wixie to show twhat happens to Humpty Dumpty in that famous nursery rhyme. When we got back to Room 2, we worked on sounds, reviewed sight words, and recited "Jack Be Nimble."

After lunch, we searched for Zero Heroes and had math. We worked on subtraction stories, illustrating "taking away."  We did a nice job!  For Start of the Week, we reviewed what we know about Dominic. Then Dominic shared his huge stuffed turtle toy and his mancala game. We ended the day with Reading Buddies. We looked at books with our friends from Room 19. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.
