Sand Paintings
We had a nice Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and a quick version of our morning activities. I let Jack, Charis, and Stella share their PTA Reflections projects before they needed to be turned in. At language arts rotations, students made Native American "sand paintings" using tagboard, glue, and Jell-o powder. They look (and smell) great! Special thanks to Pierra's mom and Dominic's mom for keeping our mess to a minimum. My groups read "I Am a Doctor" and wrote a friendly letter to Daniel, our Star of the Week. The other groups had the last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we read "All About Turkeys" and made some turkey art. We also let Ethan share his PTA Reflections entry.
After lunch, we recited "Little Miss Muffet" and reviewed our sight words. We also put together our turkey pictures and writing from earlier in the week. To end the day, Daniel shared some nice family photographs for Star of the Week. Then we passed out the Thanksgiving projects we made with Ms. Maria and Miss Karla and lined up for home.
Don't forget to finish and check over homework packets for tomorrow! Also, return any book orders with payment, if you're interested.
