Light and Dark Colors
We had a great Thursday in Room 2. We began our day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then A.J. finished reading his favorite book, "Green Eggs and Ham," from yesterday. Before we started our language arts rotations, we went to the auditorium for Spring Pictures. Everyone got their picture taken. They will be sent home at a later date should you want to purchase any photo packages. When we got back to the room, students worked on writing a friendly letter to A.J., our Star of the Week. At my table, we read "Ed Can, Ted Can" and wrote about plants in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had their final secret center of this rotation. After recess, we practiced sight words, recited "Oh Where, Oh Where, Has My Little Dog Gone? and had math. We reviewed Topic 13 before introducing Topic 14: Identifying and Describing Shapes.
After lunch, we read "Dragons Love Tacos" and had art. We continued our theme of color by looking at light and dark colors. Students took paint and mixed it with white to make it lighter. Then we took the same color paint and mixed it with black to make it darker. Our picture look neat! They show gradiation, the change in the color over five squares. For Star of the Week, A.J. shared some nice family pictures. At P.E., we had some relay races kicking a ball around cones. To end the day, we played some Sight Word Bingo. Then we packed up and lined up for home!
Don't forget to finish up and check over your homework packets for tomorrow!
