First Trip to the Library

Our Wednesday started off well with our rotations focusing on the letter "B." Students tried a new cut and paste phonics page with "B" words that fit in balloon spaces. We also worked on good letter formation and brainstorming "B" words. We read about animal babies in our Treasures reading program and practiced beginning word sounds. Math was tricky today. We worked on 1 and 2 more, but our skill sheet was a bit confusing to do independently, so we had to finish it after lunch. We continued our study of lines in art by using straight, slanted, and curved lines to create a circus picture using pencils, crayons, and watercolors. We had to have a short P.E. because we had our first visit to the library at the end of the day. We met Ms. Patty, one of three librarians at Third Street. She led us in and told us the library rules while reading "Mr. Book."  Then she read the story "Leonardo the Terrible Monster" by Mo Willems. The class enjoyed that very much! That basically was the end of the day, since we just  reviewed homework and got ready for home. Don't forget to finish your homework tonight since we don't have school on Friday!
