Still Life

We had a fun Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Next, Pierra read "Hickory Dickory Dock" to the class. Then we all wrote a friendly letter to Pierra, our Star  of the Week. Today was also our workshop/presentation day in Music. We saw several parents there when we arrived. Mr. B showcased some of the songs and skills the class has ben working on this year. After recess, we had math. We worked with a partner to do problem solving. We used shape blocks to figure out what pieces we needed to make a bigger shape. Most groups did a great job!

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Bedtime," and had art. Continuing our unit on color, we made still life pictures. We looked at real fruit and tried to recreate its color and shape using oil pastels. Outlining the fruit in black made it look really cool!  For Star of the Week, Pierra shared some nice family pictures. After P.E. on the big yard, we ended the day with a little choose time to play with puzzles, blocks or games with a friend. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home.

Be sure to finish and check over homework for Friday!  Also, be sure to wear your class t-shirt and comfortable shoes tomorrow, plus bring a lunch with drink, for the field trip!

Oh, and just in case you were interested, we have moved the chrysalis into our large butterfly home. We will be monitoring them over the next several days to see what emerges!
