More with D and Lines
We had another good day today in Room 2. We began our Thursday with Nutrition and our morning activities. Then we read "Clifford the Big Red Dog" and "D is for Duck." At language arts rotations, students worked on "D" phonics and words. My groups read "I Am Picking Apples" before drawing a picture and writing in our kindergarten journals about things we see in that picture. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We used cubes to build 9. We also worked to write and identify numbers to 9.
After lunch, we celebrated our twentieth day of school. We searched the classroom looking for "Zero Heroes." We do this every tenth day of class to earn a "Zero Hero" treat. Then we recited "Hey Diddle Diddle," sang "I'm a Little Teapot," and had art. We continued our theme of lines this time by looking at smooth and rough lines. After identifying some, we drew a picture of a favorite outdoor place using smooth and rough lines. We used pencil, crayon, and watercolors to make our picture. For P.E., we played "Duck, Duck, Goose" and had some free recess. To end the day, we played picture Bingo. Then we packed up, reviewed our homework, played "Mr. Ricker Says," and lined up for home.
Don't forget to finish up and check over homework for tomorrow!
