Holiday Fun and Bowling
We had another fun day in Room 2. We began our Wednesday with Nutrition and morning activities. Then we read "Presents for Santa." At language arts rotations, students worked to match holiday words to the corresponding picture and then use them in a sentence. My groups worked on dot painting some holiday surprises with Miss Esther while I pulled students to do sound and word testing. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we recited "Little Bo-Peep," did some rhyming and sight word review, and had math. We worked on introducing subtraction by telling stories about separating. It went well.
After lunch, we read two more holiday stories, "Santa's Busy Night" and "Christmas Cats." Then we shared more Ethnicity Dolls. Aaron, AJ, Ashley, Boyd, Chloe, Katharine, Sophia, and Ziggy all got a chance to present today. The projects look fantastic! Be sure to stop by Room 2 to see them. We did a holiday partner project where we counted by twos before we had Star of the Week. Kayla brought in her favorite book, "Barbie's Fairytale Collection." The class enjoyed Barbie and the Three Musketeers" very much. We went to P.E. on the big yard next. Coach Angel taught the class how to bowl using plastic bowling balls and pins. It was cool! We ended the day sharing more Ethnicity Dolls and with some choose time since our library time was unavailable due to the Book Fair. Then we packed up, played some "Mr. Ricker Says," and lined up for home!
