Tech Lab and the Letter C

We had a nice, short Tuesday in Room 2. We began by collecting Friday Folders and taking care of our calendar and morning activities. Then we read "My C Book" and came up with several words that begin with the letter "c." At language arts rotations, students colored the tactile page "Cotton on Cs on a Cloud" and then glued on cotton balls in the shape of a "c." My groups read "I Can" and worked on neat "C" handwriting. The other groups finished their last secret centers. After snack and recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Beginning this week, we will visit Mr. Scott in the Tech Lab every Tuesday after recess. Today, we learned the Tech Lab rules and played some games. Mr. Scott showed everyone how to navigate the desktop with their mouse and had them play three games that reinforced that skill. One game involved clicking on as many daisies as we could, one game had a car we tried to 'drive' to the end of the track, and one involved clicking and dragging items to the Food Monster. They were fun! Students even learned how to clean up their desktop. When we got back to the room, we learned our new poem "Hickory, Dickory, Dock" and had circle time where we shared things about our weekend.

After lunch, we read "School," sang "Wake Up Toes," and had math. Today we focused on one and two fewer. It was a little tricky, so please help reinforce this skill at home!  We ended the day with afternoon snack and P.E. on the kindergarten yard. Two classes were out, so we just had free recess. Then we passed out our homework folders, packed up, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!
