A Very Hot Day
We had another hot day in Room 2. We began our Tuesday with Nutrition and morning activities. We read "The Best Nest" and tried to brainstorm more "Short E" words. At language arts rotations, students identified "short e" words and matched them with the appropriate picture. It was a little challenging, but we did pretty well. My groups took the Topic 2 math test, read "We Can," and worked on neat "E" handwriting. The other groups had their last secret center of this rotation. After recess, we went to the Tech Lab. Mr. Scott had us work on keyboarding by playing "Find the Letter" and "Marcelino's Letters." They were fun! When we got back to the room, we recited "Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater," did some rhyming, and did the first part of an art project we're finishing on Thursday.
After lunch, it was so hot, that we stayed in for recess and watched "The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System" in gloriously air conditioned Room 1 with Mrs. Lee's class. Then we read "The Jungle Book" and played "Mr. Ricker Says..." before having math. We working on counting and building the numbers 6 and 7. Miss Amber read us "Clifford's Pals" before we ended the day with afternoon snack and some indoor recess. Then we reviewed our homework and lined up for home. Stay cool everybody!
