The Shape of Me
Just a quick update today... We started with morning business and read "Animal Look-Alikes" and "S is for Snail."For langauge arts rotations, we worked on "S" phonics. My groups wrote letters to Jakob, the Star of the Week. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we recited "Simple Simon" and had math. We worked with a partner to make 6 and 7.
After lunch, we had mixing with Mr. Duffy's class. My group wrote about types of animals. For Star of the Week, Jakob ahead the book "Leonardo the Terrible Monster." The class thought it was very funny! Then we had P.E. on the kindergarten yard. To end the day we had art. To continue the idea of shapes in art, we worked on the "shape of me." Students used just a pencil and eraser to try to carefully draw themselves. They came out very well! Then we packed up, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.
Don't forget to finish up those homework packets for tomorrow. If you have any book orders or class t-shirt money, please send it in tomorrow as well.
