More with O, Tech Lab, and Two Birthdays!

A busy and fun day in Room 2 today!  We started with morning business, as usual. Then we read "Olive the Octopus's Day of Juggling" and came up with more "short o" words. For language arts centers, we read, cut, and pasted "short o" pictures to match words. My table read Sam and Mat Book 2 and practiced our "O" handwriting. The other groups had secret centers. After snack and recess, we had Tech Lab. Mr. Riko had us go to abcya.com and paint four shapes and try to write the shape word using the shift key.

After lunch, we read book called "Is it Hannukkah?" and made menorah art. Student tried to color a pattern and then glue macaroni on top. They look neat! For Star of the Week, Emerson shared her toys-2 dogs, 2 cats, and a shiny gem.  To end the day, we celebrated two birthdays since both Lily and Sua were born on December 3rd. Lily's mom brought juice and cupcakes for the class. We sang for both girls, enjoyed the treat, and even got a couple minutes to play! Lily even gave goody bags on the way home. It was a good day.
