Our class was treated to a guest teacher this Tuesday... Honor's Grandmother! Mrs. Selman (or Annie) is a retired schoolteacher and visited our class to read a story and conduct a reader response lesson. Students were at rapt attention as she read the Korean folk tale "Older Brother, Younger Brother." After reviewing what happened, students drew a picture and wrote a sentence about what they remembered. Then they drew what they imagined would have been in the three gourds for them. It was a lot of fun! The kids really enjoyed Mrs. Selman's enthusiasm and obvious love of teaching. Maybe she'll come back and visit us again later in the year...
