The first grade classes got a visit from Fire Station 61 this morning. They brought two fire trucks and talked to us about what they do to help the community. Then we broke into smaller groups to get a better look at the trucks and the firefighters' tools. Their visit and the concept of community helpers ties in nicely with our Treasures theme of "Our Families, Our Neighbors." Unfortunately, the visit was cut short when they were called away on an emergency call. We didn't get to see all the trucks, but we watched intently as they gathered their things and zoomed away to help. I'll post some pictures here from the visit. Thank you Station 61!
