Stoplights

We had a nice Friday in Room 203. We spent our morning talking about classroom rules and a stoplight. We learned a poem about a stoplight and what each color means. We followed that up by making our own stoplight using colored paper, scissors, and glue. We even put a copy of the poem on back. They look great! They were helpful because our class color chart is an inverted stoplight. We will use those colors to help guide our behavior as we progress this year. The rest of the morning included snack, recess, and decorating the Friday Folders that went home today. They hold art, work, notices, and other papers to go home. Parents, please look them over and return the (empty) folder on Monday. I will give you new work next Friday.

After lunch, we focused on colors for the afternoon. We learned the major colors (red, yellow, blue, green. orange, purple, black, brown) and then traced the color words and pictures that should be that color. We did a nice job!  As students finished, we snuck in an extra project making handprints for Curriculum Night. Don't they look good? You can check them out in person next Wednesday, August 30th at 6:00 P.M.  To end the day, we had some new specials. P.E. with Mr. Simatic and Music with Ms. Karia. We will get to visit with both of them twice a week for the rest of the year!  Then we packed up our things and headed home. Have a great weekend!
