Harold and the Purple Crayon

We had a nice Tuesday in Room 203. We spent our morning reading about school and practicing writing our names as neatly as we can. We also read "Harold and the Purple Crayon" and drew a favorite part of the story using only a purple crayon. I even had students dictate what they drew as a way to check their speaking skills and comprehension. Our PEA time included a game of "Red Light, Green Light." Finally, we labeled our journals and decorated the cover for future writing activities.

After lunch, we reviewed the alphabet, our poem of the week ("Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"), and practiced some phonics skills . We introduced our math workbooks and labeled them, too. We also learned how to play some class board games using dice. Everyone got a chance to play multiple times with a partner. To end the day, we went to Music and Spanish. Then we packed up and went home!

Don't forget that  Wednesday is Curriculum Night!  We hope to see you there!
