Celebrating Dr. Oh

We had a crazy Thursday in Room 2. We began the day with our usual Nutrition and morning activities. Then we read "Good Morning Chick." At language arts rotations, students wrote a friendly letter to Coach Angel. My groups made a secret Father's Day project. The other groups got free choice secret centers. During our first rotation, we got a call from the school nurse to have vision testing.  We're flexible, so we took turns having groups go to Room 36 to see how well we see. This slowed down our rotations, though, so we didn't finish by recess. After recess, we continued our centers and got all our work done. Woo hoo!

At lunch, we found out that another class had taken the auditorium, but fortunately they were finished by the time we were to return. So after lunch, we got to rehearse for tomorrow's culmination in the auditorium with Ms. Genut and Mrs. Navarrette. At about 1:00, we had afire drill/assembly at Dermody Court. The school honored Dr. Oh, who is retiring this year, by presenting her cards, gifts, posters, and gifts. There was also some music to dance to. Dr. Oh will be missed!  Since we hadn't gotten out yet, we ended the day with some P.E. on the kindergarten yard. Then we packed up, read "Giggle, Giggle, Quack," and lined up for home.

Don't forget to have your child dress nicely for tomorrow. There will be a lot of pictures taken, that's for sure! We will start the culmination at about 1:00 on the auditorium. We hope to see you there!  After, we will return to Room 2 for some light refreshments.
