Extra Recess and a Guest Reader

We had a nice Wednesday in Room 203. We spent our morning in Reader's Workshop and working on "th" phonics. We had our last Road to Reading and practiced sounding out words, too. After snack and recess, we had Spanish with Sra. Colmenero. We got a few extra minutes of recess since it was "E is for Extra Recess" in our ABC Countdown!

After lunch, we were visited by Reid's mom for Star of the Week. She read Reid's favorite book, "The Librarian from the Black Lagoon." The class liked it a lot!  Then we read a book on butterflies and decorated a butterfly and it's life cycle. We will finish it tomorrow. We ended the day with Second Step. We found ways to invite others to play before going out for an extra recess and inviting others to play with us. Then we packed up and headed for home!
