Candy Canes
We had a sweet day back in Room 203. We started our morning sharing about our weekend and working on the letter V in our HWT books. For Reader's Workshop, we focused on using our voices to bring books to life. We also practiced letters, sounds, sight words, and looked at "Yoko" for read aloud. At Road to Reading, we began assessment week. When we returned, we had snack and recess. We ended our morning writing in our kindergarten journals. We created "I can..." sentences.
After lunch, we recited our new poem ""I'm a Little Snowman," read "Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See?" and sang our holiday songs. In math, we measured and compared lengths using five cubes. We looked at longer and shorter objects. Keep practicing this skill at home! For Star of the Week, we introduced Ben S. He shared his awesome poster and took questions from the class. Then we made some holiday art. We used construction paper and glue to make patterned candy canes. They look cool! We ended our day with Spanish and P.E. Then we packed up homework folders and lined up for home.
Be sure to look at our special homework project today. It's called "My Family Holiday Traditions." Let's have a great week!
