Ethnicity Dolls
We had a neat Wednesday in Room 203. We began the day by collecting Ethnicity Doll projects this morning. Everyone brought one in! We also took care of our morning activities and finished any missing pages in our HWT workbooks. After Road to Reading, we had Writer's Workshop. We learned how to write a trues story: We thought of a story that really happened, told a partner the story, then used pictures and words to write WHO, WHERE, and WHAT happened in the true story. We will continue to develop our writing tomorrow. After snack and recess, we talked about food, recited two poems, and read "K is for Kangaroo." During ELA Workshop, students looked identified initial letter sounds and tried to write sentences using "K" words. My groups read "We Can See!" and wrote what our favorite food is.
After lunch, we recited "Georgie Porgie" and shared Ethnicity Dolls. We took a break for a quick math lesson on "one less" before sharing more projects. They look great! We will share the last four tomorrow. To end the day we had Second Step. Ms. J.C. and Mrs. Z led a lesson on accidents. We learned and practiced what to say and do if we accidentally hurt or make someone sad. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, counted super star sticks, and lined up for home.
Thank you for doing such a nice job on those Ethnicity Doll projects! I will post pictures of them all once we finish sharing.
