Sea Turtles
We had a pleasant Monday in Room 2. We began the day by collecting Friday Folders, having Nutrition, and taking care of our morning activities. Then we read "The Trolls Take a Trip" and brainstormed some "tr, dr, gr, and pr" words. At language arts rotations, students found the missing "R" blend and wrote sentences. My groups read Sam and Mat book #9. The other groups had secret centers. After recess, we had math. We identified and compared solid shapes. We looked at the shaped with round or flat sides and found out which ones could roll, slide, or stack.
After lunch, we reviewed our new sight words, learned our new poem "Hot Cross Buns," and learned about sea turtles. We read a book about sea turtles, discussed them, and then made one with a fancy shell. They look fantastic! For Star of the Week, we introduced Victoire. She shared her shiny poster and took questions from the class. After P.E. on the kindergarten yard, we practiced a kindergarten medley for culmination. Then we packed up, passed out homework, and lined up for home. Let's have a great week!
Be sure to check over homework for the week. Our final book orders for the year are included. Return them with payment by Friday, if you're interested. Also, if you haven't turned in permission slips for our field trip next week, please do so ASAP. Lastly, our animal report and diorama projects are due next Wednesday. See me if you have any questions or concerns.
