Orcas and Sharks

We had a good Wednesday in Room 2. We began the day with Nutrition and our morning activities. Next we read and learned about "Killer Whales" and "Sharks." At language arts rotations, we made our own orcas and sharks using crayons, constructions paper, scissors, glue, and watercolors. They look great!  My groups read "Pat and the Vet" and wrote about different ocean animals in our kindergarten journals. The other groups had secret centers.  After recess, we had math. We worked on identifying solid shapes in the real world. Students worked to find hidden shapes in pictures with a partner.

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Hot Cross Buns," and shared Jack's and Kaia's animal report projects. They both did a super job!  Don't forget that all projects are due next Wednesday.  We also read about oysters and other shellfish before matching opposites.  For Star of the Week, Victoire shared her favorite book, "The Cat in the Hat." At P.E., Coach Angel had the class play "Skyscrapers," a game where you try to know down the other team's "skyscrapers." We ended the day in the library. Mrs. Singh let us check out books one more time and then read us the story "10 Minutes Till Bedtime." Then we packed up, put up our chairs, and lined up for home.
