Field Trip to the Science Center!
Room 2 went on their first field trip of the year on Thursday! After morning business and a quick "V" phonics page, we split into groups for our trip. We got on our bus with Ms. Genut's class on our way to the California Science Center in Exposition Park. When we got there, we had to check in and wait a bit as they counted students and passed out 3-D glasses. Once we got in and seated, we got to the the film "Flight of the Butterflies 3-D." I know the class enjoyed the movie, they were very excited to see the flying butterflies. I got a kick out of the way everyone was reaching out to try and reach the butterflies in the film as they flew.
After the movie ended, we went to eat lunch. Then we broke into small groups to explore the Science Center. There was so much to see: The Endeavour, Ecosystems, the World of Life, Creative World, Air & Space Exhibits, and more! At about 1:15, we met at the entrance took some pictures, and got on the bus for the ride home. At school we had a short recess, followed by Star of the Week. John shared some nice family pictures. Then we passed out some bags to help student with Tuesday recycling and lined up for home.
Thank you parent chaperones! We appreciate all of your help and patience today!
Don't forget that Friday our Valentine party. If you bring cards or treats, be sure to have enough for everyone. And bring completed homework folders tomorrow, too.
