Bears, Bears, Everywhere and P.E. Centers

We had another productive day in Room 2 on Wednesday. We started with our morning business. Then we read "V is for Vulture" and "Bears." At language arts rotations, we finished our Valentine's Day gifts and decorated bags for Friday. At my table, we reviewed the story I read and wrote in our own "Bears, Bears, Everywhere" books. Students used sentence starters to help them as they sounded out words that rhyme with "bears" on each page. The other groups had their last secret center. After snack and recess, we recited "There Was a Crooked Man" and had math. We worked with a partner to make 17, 18, and 19.

After lunch, we read "Emily's Valentine Party," did some rhyming, oral blending, read words with and without the silent e, and sang "Apples and Bananas" to review vowel sounds. We had language mixing with Mr. Duffy's class after that. My group read and wrote about animal babies.  John shared his favorite book during Star of the Week. We read "The Little Penguin." At P.E. Coach Angel had the class go to ball shooting "centers." One had students shoot a regular basketball at a hoop, another had them use a gator ball to shoot at baskets, and the last one include shooting into a tube. They were fun! Mr. K read us "The Button" from "Frog and Toad are Friends" at the library. When we got back to class, we packed up and passed out class t-shirts for everyone to wear on the field trip tomorrow.

Don't forget to wear comfortable walking shoes and your class t-shirt, and bring a sack lunch with a drink for tomorrow.  See you then!
