100 Day!

Monday was the 100th day of kindergarten. We started our day with our morning business, which also included finding "Zero Heroes" and doing 100 exercises. We read "Miss Bindergarten Celebrates the 100th Day of Kindergarten." At language arts rotations, students tried to sew a Froot Loop necklace with ten groups of ten. At my table, we wrote about what we would do with 100 dollars. The other two groups had secret centers. After snack (which included Froot Loops) and recess, we learned our new poem "Little Boy Blue." We also read "100 Days of School" and shared some 100 Day projects. Lastly, we colored in odd and even numbers to reveal a secret picture. (Hint: It was a number.)

After lunch, we read "The 100th Day of School" and shared more 100 Day books. Then we decorated and painted some 100 Day glasses. For Star of the Week, Joel shared his very neat poster and took questions and comments from the class. At P.E. we ran a lap on the big yard and had free play with balls and jump ropes since our game area was being used. When we returned, we shared more 100 Day books and colored a big "Zero Hero" picture. To end the day, we took a class photograph with our 100 Day necklaces and glasses. Then we read "100 Day Worries" and passed out this week's homework packet. It was a pretty good day!
