More Butterflies!

Our final two butterflies emerged from the chrysalis on Thursday!  That means that all five made it safely through their life cycle with us. It was very exciting! At the end of the day, we took their "home" with us to the Third Street garden adjacent to the playground to set them free. We watched as two flew out on their own relatively quickly. The others seemed more hesitant, so I used a small stick to gather the next three and get them out. One more flew into a nearby tree. The other two flapped and sat in the greenery. The students really enjoyed getting to see the butterflies go through their life cycle, as well as let them go off into the world. And so did I!
