African American History Week

Third Street School spent the week recognizing important African Americans in history. Our class used the computers in the Tech Lab with Mr. Riko to research some famous African Americans. Then we wrote down some basic facts on one of four people: Martin Luther King, Jr., Barack Obama, Rosa Parks, and Jackie Robinson.  Mr. Riko also helped find some great picture from Google Images. We used this information to write a paragraph. Then we added the photos to illustrate our writing. They came out great!  I posted our writing outside room 36 and will bring it inside next week if you're interested in seeing it. To culminate the week, we went to an assembly in the auditorium Friday morning. Several classes recited poems or performed songs. The students enjoyed themselves.
