Library and Reading Buddies

We had a good Tuesday in Room 203. We started the day with HWT. Then we had our morning meeting and updated the calendar before meeting our Reading Buddies. When we finished, we got into small groups rotations. My groups worked on New Year's Resolutions, Workshop groups played Lexia Core 5 games, and independent groups practiced "N" handwriting and wrote sentences. After snack and recess, we ended our morning with Reader's Workshop. We read "The Kissing Hand," reviewed some phonics, and learned "The Penguin Dance."

After lunch, we reviewed sight words, recited "Little Nut Tree," and went to the library. Mr. Withers is now allowing us to check out TWO books each week in the year. Please do your best to help students keep track and return books each Tuesday. Thanks!  When we return to the room, we had math. We looked for objects that were the same length using 6, 7, and 8 cubes. It was a bit challenging to find things exactly the same length. We ended the day with Music and Spanish. Then we packed up, reviewed homework, and lined up for home!
