Self Portraits
Today was the second day of kindergarten! We started our Thursday by practicing our class routines and procedures. We read some more books on school, including "Tiptoe Into Kindergarten." We updated our calendar, took pictures, practiced lining up, and worked on sharing. We also had a PBIS assembly on good behaviors and rules around the school, including the hallway, playground, and cafeteria.
Our afternoon focused on self portraits. We tried to draw ourselves and make a t-shirt full of objects or colors we like. Then we used scissors and gluesticks for the first time to cut the pieces out and put them together. It was a little challenging for some, but those that were able to finish early helped their friends as needed. We did a great job! The self-portraits will be hanging on our wall tomorrow morning. We ended our day at Art. We met Ms. Sundquist, the art teacher, and learned about lines. Students even got to bring a line home!
Parents, be sure to finish your homework tonight! We will see you tomorrow!
